The Clark Atlanta University x Nike Dunk Low ‘Panthers’ DR6189-001 is a part of a larger HBCU-inspired collection designed by Heather Lynn Haynes. This shoe pays homage to the first HBCU established in the Southern United States. The leather uppers feature asymmetrical color blocking in Clark Atlanta’s signature hues of black, grey, and red. The woven tongue tags display the Panthers logo while the heel tab bears the embroidered year, 1988, when Atlanta University merged with Clark College. The institution’s motto, ‘Find a Way or Make One,’ is printed on the laces. The shoe’s cupsole tooling is accentuated by a translucent rubber outsole, revealing a large Panther graphic underfoot.
